Dinner with old dear friends

She would be more family to me than even a friend. My Mom, Juliette and I had the best evening catching up with Elizabeth and her Mom Mary Ann.  Oh the fun and the memories with these special ladies! Drive-bys past the "Hot N Now" and other shenanigans talked about make getting together so special!

Thanks for 30 years of friendship!

4th of July fun

I tell Mom every year.... how did you have me at such an amazing time of the year. As we prepared for the 4th of July today and the annual tradition of my birthday celebration and ribs at Tessa's house on this day that same thought came back to me again. This 4th was wonderful.

We had a whole new tradition to begin this year. We started a garden. Doh came over first thing with Juliette today and the whole family under the guidance of Dan tilled, planted and watered the garden. It was actually quite exciting. We planted a tomato plant, a Columbian spinach, 4 jack o lantern pumpkins, 4 ornate very old style pumpkins and a red pepper bush. Can't wait to see what we get!

Happy Birthday to me from Seabrook Island!!

It was a birthday week like no other! It was a big year after all. I told Don all I wanted for my birthday was a beach house for my girlfriends and me. I found a beautiful house on Seabrook and arranged individual time with each of my four closest girls in my life - Whitney a dear friend from Wofford, Susan my best friend from high school, Amy McCollum my best friend from Wofford and my Mom!

I could not have asked for any other more perfect week. It was so special and so relaxing that I felt like a new woman. Matter of fact I still am riding the wave of an utter relaxed feeling inside.

I was out at the beach from a Friday until Thursday morning with just my girlfriends. Don brought the kids out and joined us. I do have to say that there was a few minutes of shell shock when the crew arrived. One jumped out of one side of the car, one on the other, one came from the front sear and the other jumped out from the back of the truck. All I could do for a minute was just look and laugh in amazement. Six days with the girls solo was quite a nice break. Took me a few minutes to remember the loudness, the love and the laughter that I had been away from.

A sizzlin good time in the 'Ville

Oh what a darn good time! We headed to our annual Ashborough swim meet. This year we had additional reasons to celebrate! Monica a childhood close friend has moved back to Summerville with her family. We swam together as children and now her daughter joined the Ashborough swim team.

Amy Verona, Monica, her mom Gail and Tessa were all there. It was a perfectly wonderful evening.

My Mom and Gail were the cheerleaders for us back in the day. We repeated history and cheered on the next generation.

Juliette loves Olivia and Tripp is wild about Parker and Lucas. The kids are so sweet and even though they are now teenagers are still so kind and love the little ones. That is how you know good kids.

Ashborough Alligator blood runs deep!

And now we have next generations of friends.

A good night can sometimes be best summed up when you cannot even make it up the garage stairs so you simply go to sleep on the step.
