Nothing like home grown greens

My Dad picked the first crop of greens, herbs and strawberries for us from his garden. Juliette is enjoying preparing the yummy salads for dinner.

Sea Bird Sanctuary

While we were down in FL, we were able to take Juliette to Don and Grandpa's favorite place - the Seacoast Bird Sanctuary. This place is just amazing. You would not believe how many birds they rehabilitate and the others are kept on the premises. Juliette like her Daddy has a special place in her heart for "birps" as she calls them. As you can imagine, she was quite overwhelmed with all of the "birps" right around her.

Time of sadness brings joy too

It is amazing how the celebration of life can bring everyone together. In spite of losing my Grandpa Bud, we were able to enjoy some fond memories and light moments with family and friends. Grandpa had a beautiful funeral amongst all who were closest to him. I feel very comforted that Grandpa never suffered and died very peacefully.

Rest in peace Grandpa Bud

How Lucky we all were to have 94 years with my Grandpa Bud. He passed away last night. I am SO very happy that he was able to spend very special time with his only Great-Granddaughter. The memories stay forever.

Best friends and "new little future best friends"

We had such a fun play night with my two best friends from college who happened to be from Charleston as well. Jill had us over for a pizza and play night outside. There are five girls between the three of us girls. We pity when there is actually a boy born. He will be the king for sure among all of these little girls. There is always something special on an evening with great girlfriends and watching all of your children playing together.

the potty... oh the potty...

Well we continue to encourage the potty. However, this seems to be Juliette's favorite part of pottying - playing with the potty instead of sitting on the potty. She is running around with a bare bottom in the picture all ready to go but decided that the floor would be much more appropriate than the potty to pee-pee.

Happy Easter

A very happy Easter to everyone. We had a wonderful day. Mass is always so very special. It is outside each Easter and the day was just perfect. We went to brunch afterwards right down the street. Juliette loved all of her treats from the bunny and her grandparents. Late in the afternoon as you can see below Juliette is dancing on the deck to the music card that her Tessa and Doh sent to her for Easter.

The day ended with a peak at our most special wood ducks that are laying eggs on our wood duck boxes that we set up for them. It is so neat to see the mother and all of her eggs. We have been following their developments.

The Daniel Island Easter Egg hunt

Juliette knew something was about to happen when Mommy gave her the Easter egg basket. We had so much fun with at the hunt. Last year, she was not even walking and so we just picked up and egg for her in her basket and took some pictures. This year - she was into EGGS! She really caught on and even searched under bushes for the eggs. It was so cute. Before we left, she decided that it was more fun to stop and just eat some of the candy right on the grass as you can see in the pictures below.

Playing with photography

I always wish that I knew more about photography. Before I went to sleep the other night, I looked out the window and knew that Easter was on it's way. The moon was just amazing this past week and had the whole backyard lit up. The tide was the highest we have seen this year so far. Anyway, far from a professional shot but I did think they turned out nicely.

The lamb tradition

We continued the annual baking of the lambs. It is so much fun having a small child how enjoys the process and newness of anything and everything. It makes everything just that more exciting and special.
