Annual cutting of the collards

Well this year we were a little bit late in cutting the collard greens from the garden. We usually do this on January 1st. Nonetheless, no less special even if we are a few weeks late. Dad, you did a great job once again growing these tasty treats!

"Ba Ba" needs her Mommy

Juliette told me today that "Ba Ba" needed her Mommy. "Ba Ba" is a funny story. For Christmas, my Mom bought her a baby carriage for her baby. She went looking at all of the doll shops and could not find a beautiful baby or one not made in China so she decided to clean my baby up and dress her. She looked like brand new. Juliette loves her and calls her "Ba Ba"

Happy Birthday to my sweet Gypsy Rose

It is kind of sad when you wake up in the morning and there is an email from your Vet wishing Gypsy a "Happy Birthday"... why yes, I would be lying if I said I had remembered but none the less, we had a little celebration for her and she got some extra food and treats today for her birthday. Nothing could be more special for her than Juliette singing "Happy Birthday" to her 15 times today. She is 7 years old today. That is hard to believe. Back when I got her I was just a little single girl unattached and thought it would be me and her for many years. She still has a great life though. It may be a little crazy for her and she may dream of peace and quiet - that may not happen in her lifetime I am afraid.

A dream Assistant

We have such an "Assistant" now a days. Juliette wants to help with everything. Tonight she washed the dishes for us - literally! She insists on scooping the ice cream and tells us each time "I help my Mommy and Daddy."

Tonight she told me something funny. We were talking and she was in her car seat eating "fruit loops" which she calls "froops". I asked her how they tasted and she responded, "Actually Mommy, they are called cheerios." I just started to laugh!

2010... A year in review

Wow! Where has the time gone! We have had a wonderful year. Juliette has grown so much. She is now talking in full sentences and can tell you EXACTLY what she wants and especially what she does NOT want. School has been wonderful for her this year. She still goes two mornings a week and has become so very social and outgoing. It really brought her out of her shell. She is with my parent's the other days in the morning while I work.

She continues to love her doggies. She likes to walk them around the house and back around and around and around. The dogs win the award for the most patient as she can be quite a BOSS to them.

She is a wonderful eater and will eat anything... the newest thing is beets! She ate them for Christmas dinner and New Years as well. While she does like all kinds of things, her favorite item is "Chocolac". She asks for a piece when she wakes up in the morning. Who needs breakfast when you can just have a piece of "chocolac" to get your day started.

The picture at the top is at the very beginning of the year and the picture below is Christmas day at the very end of the year.

A wonderful 2011 to each of you!
