Beautiful dresses from Tessa

Juliette is one of the luckiest little girls in the world I do believe - anyone who has such a talented Tessa like she does to make her such cute things. Two new dresses that my Mom just finsished for her for the fall.

Thank you thank you Tessa!

Baking a pumpkim cheesecake for Daddy

I have come to realize that there is no such thing as mentioning an idea to Juliette and thinking that she will forget it. Yesterday I had mentioned to Juliette that we would bake a pumpkin cheesecake for Daddy after school tomorrow. I assumed that she had long forgotten about the idea until Tessa called me after picking Juliette up and told me that she could not wait to bake a cake with Mommy today. I assumed that we would make it over the weekend and I would just keep her excited about it but a promise is a promise and off to the grocery store I went.

She LOVES to help in the kitchen. Any part of it makes her happy but as long as she feels like she is "doing it all by herself!"

We made a DELICIOUS cake and all enjoyed... Happy fall to all!

Yummy yummy batter indeed!

A wonderful trip to Chicago

Don went to Alaska on his annual salmon fishing trip and so Juliette, Mom and I decided to do a girls' weekend in Chicago! We had the best time and Juliette loved the trip.

We actually spent a good part of the morning at the American Girl's store which was so much fun! Juliette was able to pick out some speical outfits for her baby - who she is still not at all very sure about. She was fascinated by the store and could have looked around (and touched everything) all day there.

We had some wonderful pizza while we were there that is for sure!

We took a ride to the convent to see Auntie Toni. She is recovering from surgery and looked great already. Juliette was fascinated by the convent and loved dancing for the Nuns in the house. She showed them her ballet.

All ready to go!!
Juliette was an awesome passenger in the airplane!
Juliette finds a horse to go with her baby - what could be better??
Making sure that baby's heart sounds okay...
Juliette and her treats for her baby doll
If Tessa tries boots on, I must try them on as well...

Ahh... one of the highlights of the trip - the pony ride!
I will sit all by myself like a big girl and make Mommy nervous on the pony ride

My three year old well baby check at the Doctor

I should hardly call it a well baby check as there is little baby left in Juliette. Juliette had a big day today with Dr. Kimberly. She had quite a day leading up to the appointment. That morning she tried to sneak into the freezer in search of a popsicle and in the process got her finger stuck in there. All was okay after some ice and a lesson learned on sneaking in the refrigerator. That afternoon on the way to the appointment, Juliette took the cap of her juice bottle and sucked it around her lips thinking that was funny. I looked in the rear view mirror and there is a hug bruise around her mouth. Please note in the picture she looks like an old man with a moustache. She thought that it was the funniest thing, I of course was not laughing as I had to walk her into the Doctor's office.

Dr. Kimberly asked her several questions. One thing about children, they never lie.

Dr. Kimberly: Juliette what is your favorite healthy food, perhaps green?
Ju: Chocolate... but I do also love to eat ice cream with my Daddy

Dr. Kimberly: what do you love to do?
Ju: I love to play "talking Tom"on my I-touch.... and I love Barney... I don't like carrots but Barney loves carrots!

Those were some of the funniest things that she said. She is still off the charts for height and is perfectly healthy! She is such a  funny little girl. I knew that she would have to get a shot and she by now is old enough to know what is coming. She got one, and it was so fast that she did not even realize what had happened.

Since she is now three, she gets to wear a gown. Dr. Kimberly told her that means that she is no longer a baby but a big girl... Juliette LOVED hearing that.

What we have been up to lately

We have been busily wrapping up the summer. We had a wonderful visit from my best friend Elizabeth and her Mom and new baby girl Abigail. Don and I are the proud Godparents. What a beautiful baby girl!

Girls will be girls! One of Juliette's favorite things is to ride her tricycle all dressed up in her ballet recital costume and wrap pink blankie around her neck like she is flying!

We have way too much fun with her!

My first day of 3K today

Well today was another landmark day - Juliette started 3K today. She woke up and you would have thought she was a professional student. She was so excited to see her teachers and her friends. It is nice because she has the same teachers as last year with the addition of one new teacher - Stephanie Cusher who I drive to school in high school! Is that a small world or what?? Ms. Stephanie is so wonderful and I think it is just the coolest that Juliette now has her for a teacher.

She seemed to have a wonderful day. She especially enjoyed "playing hide and seek and hiding from the boys..." ha...my girl for sure!
