Juliette's ballet recital

We had such a great weekend and the highlight was Juliette's ballet recital. It is one of the cutest productions and also you can find such amazing talent in the show with the older kids. It was just so enjoyable!

We had a very relaxing Memorial day while remembering those that died fighting for our freedom.

So far so good with the new bed! Juliette is loving it and has not been getting out at all in the middle of the night. She thinks that she is such a big girl now.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial day weekend! I go back to work tomorrow. Mixed feelings of course but looking forward to several hours each morning of quiet! That is something that you do not get anything of these days around the house. I had a wonderful maternity leave with both children. Each day we created such special memories.

My new big bed

Well the time has come and the delivery truck arrived! Juliette officially has moved into her new bed. She is SO excited and absolutely loves it. I must say that her room is absolutely precious with the bed in it. We now can read stories in the bed before night night.

The report on the first night that she stayed in the bed but she came down to our room at 4:30 in the morning that she was having a "mean dream". It had to do with Jack and the Beanstalk and someone chasing her. We had not encountered that before. This was a first.

Happy 3 months baby Trippy!

Tripp is three months old today! He is still such a wonderful baby and continues to be very easy and content. He is cooing like crazy and smiles all the time. He almost makes noises now when he smiled like he is going to laugh. He is fully sleeping though the night now and wakes up usually around 6 or 7 AM to eat. I am feeling great with such good sleep.

Juliette has really become so interested in baby Tripp. She likes to help "carry" him, tries to make him laugh and just really likes to check on him.

Going to Tessa and Doh's house for a "Sleep party"

One of Juliette's favorite things to do is to pack her suitcase and head to Tessa and Doh's house for what she calls a "sleep party". She had one last night and it was the funniest thing to watch her take her suitcase out of the closet, open it up and fling all of her blankies and animals from her bed into the suitcase. She had the entire thing packed with room for one pair of panties for the morning.

Included was her big dog, 4 blankies including the most important, "pink blankie", 7 animals, one paid or panties, and even "big blue" who is Tripp's big doggy. Juliette told me last week, "Mommy, I readed the instructions and it said that Big Blue needs me to take care of him until Tripp is bigger. He would be very lonely in Tripp's room all alone." How do you respond to that?

Don and I had a very relaxing evening of dinner at sushi with a baby that slept the whole time and then coming home and watching a movie. It is amazing how QUIET the house is even for one night without Juliette there. You know that she is gone for sure for the evening.

Today is the day... the last day of 3K

Wow did we feel like a big shot this morning! I reminded Juliette when she work up that this was her last day of school and that she would not have the same teachers next year. She said, "But Mommy, I love my teachers!" We brought them in some special treats today because they have all just been amazing! Juliette has been with them now for 2 years. She will move on to the big school next year for 4K.

We took some pictures on the front porch for her last day of school and then Doh pulled up! She said, "Let's not go to school and I will go fishing with Doh." After some convincing she decided that it will be a super fun day going on an "ultimate bug hunt."

I dropped her off for the last day and all though she has never had much interest in dolls at home, what is the first thing that she is playing at school? Dolly! Go figure! I was so glad that I got to capture a few shots of the day.

When I picked her up it was hard to believe that another year was done. Tripp will be in the little program there before you know it. We went to celebrate with a lunch at Juanita Greenberg's! Now the scholar is napping from exhaustion and getting ready for a fun filled weekend swimming in the pool and playing at the park. It's a tough life I tell ya!

It's starting to feel like summertime!

Well May has quickly approached and with that has been lots of fun outdoor activities and swimming in the pool almost every day. It is still cold but it is amazing how unphased by water temperature children are.

We have been up to a whole lot of not much. I am enjoying some of my last weeks of maternity leave before going back to work. Juliette's last day of 3K is tomorrow. It is so hard for me to believe that another school year is done. She is so excited as they will be going on a bug "bug hunt" tomorrow for the last day celebration.  We should have a very fun summer this summer. I think again there will be a hole bunch of swimming.

Tripp is doing great! He is growing like a weed. I feel like he does not really even feel or look like a new born but when you think about it he really is not. He slept through the night last night. He went from 10 PM until 7:30 AM. He has done on occasion 11 PM until 6 AM but last night was the real deal. It is strange that I actually was a little bit sad that he went through the night. There is part of me that still wants him to be a little new born baby We all know that can't stay that way forever though.

Mom took Juliette strawberry picking at Boone Hall Farms Tuesday. They had so much fun. Juliette came home with dirt from head to toe and had more strawberry juice dow her face than you could imagine. She loved every bit of it thought and we made homemade strawberry shortcake for dinner that night.

I surely do love my sweet/spicy girl!

Lunch date with "Ms Cynthia"

We had such a fun lunch date with my Mom's best friend Ms. Cynthia. It was such a blast to see her and for her to get to meet Tripp and see Juliette.

Cynthia let's do it again very soon!

Relishing life's moments to the fullest

I have been trying to relish every moment of my children. They grow so fast and it is hard to believe that Juliette is 3 1/2 years old and Tripp will be three months old in a few weeks. Don went on a quick fishing Tripp to UT this past weekend and so my Mom and I decided to capture some more moments with the children. I love photography because I feel like it is a true way to be able to hold tight to all of the fun that you make in the present and fun that you have already made with them.

We pulled Tripp and Juliette's cradle out to the backyard and took some shots of both of them. Tripp is still in the cradle next to my bed. Juliette was in it when she was a baby for three months.

In life it seems that there are always things that we can worry about and be concerned with. It is amazing when we step back and look -  how much enjoyment there is in each day. I am so thankful for that!

Enjoy!

Wonderful week with Ann Marie and Mary Ellen

We had the best visit with my Mom's cousins who came into town for a few days. It was so much fun and we miss them already. Juliette has not stopped talking about the princess cake that she spent two days making with Mary Ellen. She asked me today whoever would be able to ever help her make another princess cake like the one she made with Aunt Mary Ellen.

Thanks so much for such a fun visit and we hope y'all are back in town soon.

By the way that was the most amazing cake design ever! Thank you again - Juliette will never forget making that!
