One cute baby boy is five months old today!

Say it ain't so!... but yes it is... Tripp is five months old today. We celebrated with our dear little friend Ellison Tyler for her fourth birthday party. It was so much fun.

The only real change lately is that Tripp is starting to laugh... it is the cutest thing in the world listening to him develop a new little trick. He loves his little bumbo and sits in it to eat his new found food that he is trying out and when he wants to hang out with his Mama while she is doing some work in the kitchen. Yesterday he ate some sweet potatoes and this morning he ate some pears. Nothing has excited him so far as he eats 1/3 of the food and spits the other 2/3 of it out.

Hanging out with my sweet little girl!

Well we are quickly approaching the end of our 3's! Juliette will be four in just a few weeks. Today I sat back and tried to capture some of her favorite outdoor activities. She is at such a great age - still some days almost a baby, other days a little girl and then other days she truly believes that she is nine years old. I will take her just as she is - still a little three year old. She whispered in my ear last night, "Mommy, I will always be your baby!" Oh yes sweet baby you will!

Ahhh...the delicious taste of food

Today Tripp ate his first bit if real food. Juliette picked out for his first food sweet potatoes.  He did try rice cereal last week but he was no fan of it. Matter of fact, he really just gagged on it. He loved his food and Juliette was such a good big sister and fed it to him perfectly, It is a new little world for the fella now - from only formula to the wonderful world of the good taste of food.

Where should we go on a hot afternoon... ?

Well what better place than the bowling alley to test out our skill!

I decided to take Juliette bowling since she had never been before. It was a hoot! Tripp slept the whole time for me and Juliette and I were laughing hysterically. There was actually a metal contraption that she could place the ball on it and push it off and it created enough force to get the ball down the alley.

I have to say - I have some skill in the game. Every time I go to throw the ball I think of my Grandma Dini telling me to keep the thumb straight... she and my Grandpa Dini were great bowlers and they took us to the alley for popcorn and some bowling when we were young.

Tripp's first food - yummy rice cereal...

Okay so not really so yummy at all... formula mixed with some rice cereal seems less than appetizing to me as well. Tripp was thinking the same thing. He was not fond of the texture and was really not sure what to do with it at all. Juliette was laughing watching him try to get it down.

Juliette pulled out the cheerios when we told her we were going to feed him "rice cereal." We also included the picture of Juliette with her first taste of food. She was much more excited about it than Tripp was. There was not a food though that Juliette did not like even at that age and that holds true today.

We will try him with some fruits and vegetables gradually in the next week or so.

This is the picture of Juliette in the frame in the center with her first taste of food..

"Really... no thanks."

"I think my fingers are much yummier than my food."

It's Summer time!

We are having such a fun summer! We celebrated my birthday over the last few days and that is always such a fun time! We will end the final celebrations tomorrow as we eat our barbecue ribs which is always a tradition! Juliette as you can see is quite ready for the 4th as well.

Tripp had his four month old checkup yesterday and is 75th percentile in height and weight. He is just over 15 pounds. He is growing and growing and just gets sweeter by the day. He will now be starting to eat some rice cereal.

We have been up to a few things lately. We did have our first bout of the pink eye this past weekend which then turned into an ear infection. We caught the ear infection early so it did not get too bad which was very good. We went over to one of favorite places - the aquarium. Below you can see Juliette very closely watching the loggerhead turtle. Is he not just too beautiful? Another one of her favorite activities at the aquarium is feeding the stingrays shrimp. They come all the way up to the glass and will eat the shrimp that you have on the pole.
