Our first weigh in...

Tripp is doing great! He weighed at birth 7 lbs 15 ounces and then when he left the hospital he weighed 7 pounds 7 ounces. Today at the Pediatrician's office he gained already two ounces. He is doing great! He is up twice a night when he gets fed and then goes back to sleep pretty immediately. He is such a good baby I cannot tell you enough!

Juliette wanted to watch Tripp get weighed but she did not want to touch him.

Juliette has had a good adjustment with him. She really is too into her own world to even really realize that Tripp is around. She calls him "Baby Tripp"and enjoyed looking at him every so often.... otherwise on with her own little world and life. I think as he gets older and a bit more entertaining she will be into him.

Tripp Day 2

One Tripp's second day of birth, Don decided that he would sleep much better out of the chair, so Tessa came and spent the night with me and Tripp. My assistant also came and spent the morning with me in the hospital room. It is amazing when you don't leave a room almost all day how you can feel like the walls are really coming in on you. Juliette kept Tripp and me very entertained as well as Tessa.

Welcome to the world Tripp Stovall!!!

Well it is official and we are a bit behind getting the pictures up! We have a new baby and a new baby brother to add to the picture!

Tripp has been a wonderful baby so far. He is the sweetest little guy in the world. I had such a smoother delivery this time as well. My OB took me a week early and that made all of the difference in the world. He was 7 pounds 15 ounces which was just perfect.

We are enjoying every minute of him. I am so sorry that it has taken this long to get the pictures up. I feel like we are settling in though and so pictures should be coming more frequently.

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone...

I surely do enjoy this holiday especially now that Juliette is part of the whole mix. She had a party at school yesterday so we got all dressed up for the occasion. We have been working on her Valentine's cards for her friends at school. She was very excited for the party.

Happy Valentine's Day to my sweet sweet husband! He sent me some beautiful flowers to work this morning and we are going to celebrate tomorrow after the big crowds from this evening. The only thing that would complete this Valentine's day even more would be a baby to come out this evening. I know that the evening is getting late but there is still always hope. I had an appointment today and and I am now 3 cm and about 75% effaced. I am making some progress but I am calling it not enough until I go into labor. If there is nothing before next week, she is inducing me on 02/22, next Wednesday. The day can not come soon enough. I am caught up at work and year end is over. It is a perfect time to go out for a few months. I have been nesting for what I call weeks now and have had a huge energy burst over the last two weeks. I get excited thinking this all means something - but again here I am blogging...

Happy Valentine's day to everyone!

Busy at work making Valentine's cards for all of my friends...
Sisterly love.... it is amazing how much Juliette loves Gracie and just how patient Gracie is with her... she is giving her a Happy Valentine's day kiss
"Look Gracie, would you like to see all of my Valentine's cards?"
Smallest bow possible in today to try to catch the bangs but as you can see, there are still some on her face. You cannot see the damage on the sides of the head so this makes a good picture still. Here we are enjoying opening cards!

The TRAUMATIC day has come for me - Juliette cut her hair

So, I laugh every time I hear that one of my friends' children has cut his/her hair. I never in a million years thought that it would happen to mine. I was getting shades installed yesterday afternoon and the men were in my room. Juliette had been nicely playing with play dough making me some donuts (yes, she knows the way to her pregnant Mommy's heart!). I was working on something for a minute for work at my computer. I walked into our bathroom to get something and all that I see scattered on the hardwood is locks of hair.... I had to catch my breath I was so in shock. I called Juliette over and took notice of her hair - yes bangs halfway up her forehead and chunks of pieces on both sides of her head that are half the length. It looks like both sides of her hair have been layered completely. My first reaction was not a laugh. I was very upset and found no humor in it. She had climbed up on Don's bathroom counter and found some of his trimming scissors on the top shelf and took it upon herself to start cutting her hair. I am really not even sure where she got the idea from.

She told me when I asked her why she did that she said, "I sneaked into Daddy's closet and cut my hair." She could not answer why because I think she had no idea why. "Mommy, I did it when you were doing numbers on your computer."

So, there is no picture right after the disaster because I did not want to glorify any part of what she did. I know that it is a bit funny today and will be funnier 10 years from now but that is one thing that I did not want to capture with the camera.

Oh the patience of being a parent.... yes, you must have a lot of it!

A visit with the Keeley's

We had such a fun visit this past weekend with our friends the Keeley's who came in town for the weekend. They have a French exchange student, Liza for a few months and wanted to show her Charleston.

That Friday afternoon I had an OB appointment and I was 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced. I was sure by the end of the weekend being in the presence of another OB all weekend (Mike Keeley is one) that he would be all the luck that I needed to have this baby. Obviously, that did not happen as I am still here writing blog posts.

Juliette was very busy before they arrived helping to roll out some dough for pizza's for the company. As everyone knows - Juliette LOVES older girls. She was in Heaven all weekend with Ellen and Liza. They included her in everything and played any game that she wanted them to play.

Ellen and Liza loved Juliette's bows and each wore one almost all weekend

Big girls get to go to Mommy's Doctor appointment

Juliette and I had quite a special day today. I took her to my OB appointment today. Juliette was able to hear baby Tripp's heartbeat and "hold my hand when I was scared". She was fascinated especially getting to see a "real girl Doctor". Of course Juliette was very curious as to how baby Tripp comes out of Mommy. I left that up to her imagination. She did not require an answer to the question so we left it alone.

Tonight after meeting our friend Maggie Ruth and her Mommy for ice cream, we got home and Juliette was pulling out a tape measure. All of a sudden she is measuring my belly and tells me, "Mommy you are 27." Sure enough she watched the Doctor measure me today and that is exactly where she got the idea to do it as well.

She is sure funny!
