We are in full party mode! This is the third Halloween party that we are heading to. My work party is always SO much fun! This year was as great as ever!
Presenting Superman attacked by Wonder Woman, Cleopatra and at this minute an uncooperative doggie
Tripp was especially happy to see this sweet polar bear at the party! He could not get enough of him!
And Juliette enjoyed meandering around the party to see just what she would like to do. This is where I found her! Getting colorful pieces added to her hair. Can't take the "girly" out of this sweet little girl!
Well this sweet sweet boy of mine has now been in the "think about it chair" twice now for pinching! What in the world?? Mrs. Jones has assured me that she is not concerned about him and he is a boy and he also has an older Sister that he is used to defending himself against sometimes. So first he pinches this sweet sweet little girl in his class and then he pinches his good little friend… I just keep telling myself he is SO young and really still a baby. We do talk about it though and each morning he assures me… "Mommy, I no pinch today…"
Other than the pinching, he LOVES little preschool. This is such a cute vine on their wall in the classroom with all of the little classmates!
And this is how he and his two little friends like to start off the morning… half yoga, half somersault and half downward dog… they are absolutely hilarious!
Tonight Juliette whispered that she was going to wake up in the middle of the night and come to her Daddy's office so that she could watch Belinda fly away!
Our days are hilarious around here! We keep the potty excitement alive and a I am SO happy to report that we are what I would consider done! There is no reward to Tripp like a blue lolly so this is what happens at my parents house when there is success! Also he insists on looking at a "man magazine" while he is on the potty. One that must have a fish or deer on the front of it!
Juliette and her little friends headed to the Disney on Ice. It is always SO much fun! A late evening but well worth it!
And by the end of the day Juliette shocks me as she walks out of Tessa's house with one of my favorite dresses of mine when I was her age! She LOVED it and did not want to take it off! She is looking forward to wearing it tomorrow to church!
It is so wild how I immediatley recognized it as soon as she came out with it on!
Juliette and her class have been studying the Rain Forest. Therefore, to end the unit, they had a safari party. She picked out what she considered to be the perfect safari outfit for the day!
As far as Juliette is concerned a safari girl is always fancy… hence the flowered dress because there are always flowers that grow in the Amazon. Why not find a cowboy hat? That has to look close enough to a safari hat especially after decorating polka dotted black ribbon around the rim.
The safari chicks eating their treats!
Tripp was included in the fun and even got to open the sand box up. He was thrilled that his sweet Sister included him in all of the fun on the playground.
And then someone was pooped… he found a nice relaxing spot on the rocks… but when asked… "I no tired… no hushabye…"
We celebrated another art session with Ms. Johanna and her Mom Ms. Stephanie. Juliette was so excited to showcase her art work. I get so excited for her because art is my weakest area! I have a lot of talents in life, but art is not one of them! It blows me a way what she is doing and learning.
This is a piece representative of Vietnam.
I loved the Halloween prints! I have framed them for the house.
Here are some cars and surfboards getting ready for the beach!
This was Juliette's favorite that she created most likely because it has to do with drawing a horse. This was a three diminutional piece and was done on three different sections of paper.
I was SO excited about this Halloween piece that I could not wait to showcase it in the kitchen! It just adds to the Halloween excitement around the house!
We kept the tradition going this year heading to the Boone Hall Pumpkin patch. The kids and I were off Monday and so we grabbed my Parents and headed out there. Let me tell you it was HOT but we got there early enough that we managed to enjoy the day. We have had some gorgeous days but I am ready for the intermitent hot days to disappear! I always forget that October is often deceiving and can still blow some surprisingly warm temperatures.
Pictures with pumpkins are just the best!
Tripp is now 3 feet tall and Juliette is almost 4 feet!
Tripp and Doh… Tripp let us know he was too hot to walk!
We took a ride on the hayride. The kids just loved the witches hanging from trees and the skeletons all over the trail… Tripp liked to hang close to Doh though in case the witch was mean and scary...
And each year the massive trampoline gets more and more fun to jump on!
We fed some goats and rabbits and thoroughly enjoyed ringing in the Halloween season!
Each day I am amazed at how fast kids grow! I woke up this morning and decided this morning was the morning I needed to capture some shots with my professional camera. I was SO happy that I did! Tripp is at that age where he does not know how to smile. Juliette is at the age where I can get a perfect smile out of her. We needed the help of Don to make Tripp laugh to get that perfect shot!
AND all the time and effort comes down to some of the best pictures I will have to enjoy!
October is quite possibly my favorite month of the year! The temps are beginning to cool and I joust love everything about the month. One of the most exciting parts is the arrival of our beloved witch Belinda! She has now been part of our family for 5 years.
There are great tales about her
*It is well known that she flies in on her broom coming from the moon
*She watches for the perfect evening when all children have been PERFECT
*Each night when the children fall asleep, she flies away for the evening and returns when the sun comes up
*She has a mole that has scared Juliette for years but now Juliette considers it her "beauty mark"… Tripp on the other hand is brave enough to touch it
*She doesn't have a family, so she anxiously awaits to come to our family
Saturday evening, Juliette became concerned that she was lost. She suggested that she draw her a picture and tape it onto her chair that she usually loves to sit on
Juliette went to bed and included in her prayers that Belinda would not get lost and could find her way!
We woke up the next morning…. and guess who we found… Belinda! The children could not have been more shocked or excited!
Since Belinda arrived, we decided to finish some decorations for the Fall! On a 63 degree day, I could not think of anything more fun to do!
Welcome home Belinda and we look forward to having you as a very special part of our Fall!
This morning we were part of my Sister-in-law's Husband's Change of Command at Fort Bragg. It was such an impressive ceremony and we are so excited for him as he becomes the Division Commander of the Airborne for the Army. He is also receiving his second star as General.
We are SO proud of you and your accomplishments!
Richard, my Sister-in-Law Suzanne, and my niece and nephew Madeleine and Will
Juliette, Tripp and Don posing in front of a large Army truck there for the occasion
Of course the kids had a blast and were up to all kinds of shenanigans with their cousins!
And on the way home we stopped at South of the Border as I have never been there in spite of passing it 100 times since I was a kid…. the pitiful place was just pathetic but hilarious at the same time. All of the painted animals the kids wanted to sit on. Oh well good for that and some ice cream at an almost deserted ice cream shop.
