"And she had fun fun fun 'til her Daddy took the t-bird away" πΆπΆπΆ
Oh did we! Whitney had her nephew Kellen in town for the week so we planned a surf lesson for all of us! What fun and how hilarious! Juliette whipped up on everyone. The girl is in a class of her own with her core strength that she has from ballet. She was up on that board in no time just like last summer. We'll say I was able to get up and ride a few waves - much more practice to come though π.
All that work after lunch snow cones of course were required for some refuel to the body!
Mima and Grandpa just returned from Germany. They brought home some authentic German clothing. Tripp got the traditional outfit worn by the German boys and Juliette got a sweat shirt from the ski resort where her Daddy learned how to ski.
We ended the evening with a nice toast with some authentic German beer hand delivered to us in a suitcase!
They love each other so much and they are so in tuned to one another. Thomas was concerned that we were home and Tyler was asleep.
Thomas: "Ta-To Ta-To sleep Mommy..."
I watched Thomas then just watch his brother until I am sure Tyler could feel him breathing on top of him. He woke up and Thomas was so thrilled. He knew that then they could play together.
I know I have said it before but can I just tell you how quirky this little guy is and how much he makes me laugh! He has his little ways and they crack me up. You all know at this point about Tripp and his clothes. He was so preoccupied about what he was wearing now that it was summer time that he created a game for himself. He wrote out a "yes" and a "no" on a sheet of paper. If he landed with his eyes closed on the "yes" with his pencil the next morning, he would be able to wear his PE clothes which are nicely laid out waiting for him.
Upon waking up, "Mommy guess what, I landed on 'yes'.... now I have to wear my PE clothes." As if he would have ever intended to land on 'no.'
Also, look closely and you can see the most recent item he likes to sleep with.... a lego tire.... Don't ask.... I have no idea! He may not have any idea why either. It is just the Tripp way....
We began the first weekend of the summer at Charlestowne Landing. I was amazed even with the heat how many of the animals were out. Juliette and the boys were able to see water buffalo, black bears, eagles and my personal favorite the red wolves! The red wolves have been on the border of extinction over the past decade or so.... seeing them every time is such a highlight for me!
The boys were so happy to be sporting their fancy sun shirts from Doh. We couldn't get them off of them.
It's always so cute to hear some toddler talk even around the park. You can hear 5 different conversations going on.... nothing new.... it's kind of how we all roll in our house.
We sure enjoyed the day together!
It's always fun to remember walking the park myself as a kid (which really seems like not long ago)...
Everything is so fascinating to the boys. They are like sponges and just love to soak everything up. The bear was a favorite for Thomas, the water buffalo was Tyler's favorite and Juliette and Tripp loved the red wolf.
Sometimes the best picture comes from the effort to make your brother smile and look at the camera. Just give the little brother a "slight" twist of the neck and shove of the cheek....
