Wofford Homecoming

It took me back! It took me right back to the same feeling of being there 18 years ago!

My roommate and best friend Amy met our dear friend along with our Husbands and kids for one of the best weekends. We all did Homecoming together. I really am not sure who had more fun - the kids had their own party and the adults surely had our own party.

The weather was amazing! High 60's and 40's at night. We found a fabulous tailgating area under some trees. The kids played ball, made cheer-leading routines, played chase and ABSOLUTELY loved the day!

I could not believe how much has changed on the campus. There are now fancy student apartments, an entire new road of campus and a the "Row" has been moved and all new houses. I am torn on that though. There is a Kappa Delta house which of course we never had. We had an "apartment" as it was called in the basement of Greene Dorm. Times are a changin' - that's for sure! I was so excited to bring Juliette into the house and introduce her to Greek Life. She is a "Double Legacy" as her Mama is a Kappa Delta and so is her "Mima."

She was so excited to be on a campus she really did not know what to make of it all.

The young'ens were super excited to look at pictures. Tripp loved Lela! This could be the future Wofford couple.

Tripp: "Look Mommy what's 'dis?"....
Mommy: "Yuck put that down..."
yup... a nice beer can laying on the ground with a few drops of beer dripping out

The whole crew of three dear college friends!

The kids were so excited to bring their cardboard boxes in to "roll down 'da hill!" We have been talking this up for weeks and it surely did not disappoint.

My bestie! I went to her bowling party as 2nd graders at Oakbrook Lanes... we were classmates along with Chiquita Banana (we still remember her...), I remember when she brought Dee her brother in for show and tell that year, her Mama was my 5th grade teacher, we never saw each other in high school but one evening she came in to the Piggly Wiggly while I was working and told me that she was going to Wofford!

Our worlds were going to collide again! It was like a reunion! And the rest is history - Sorority Sisters, roommates and best friends!

Seeing our children play together and lovin' on each other makes the bond even more special!

And the good times kept rolling into the evening for the Wofford Street Party downtown Spartanburg!

Here is the video that I made for the girls of the weekend recap. The funniest is watching Tripp dancing at the end and then he face plants on the stairs... funny now because he was fine and just jumped back up and kept dancing. He was only sad that his lollipop cracked!

On the city's northern border,
Reared against the sky
Proudly stands our Alma Mater
As the Years go by.

Cherished by thy sons and daughters
Memories sweet will throng
'Round our hearts, dear Alma Mater,
As we sing thy song.

When we from thy halls are parted,
And life's battle's on,
Thy great spirit shall inspire us
Till eternal dawn.

May it ever be our watchword.
"Conquer and Prevail."
Hail to thee, our Alma Mater
Dear old Wofford, hail!
