10 years of celebration

We just ended a most amazing week of celebrations in San Francisco and Nappy Valley! I could not have asked for a better time. Don planned the whole trip so it was all a surprise! We arrived in San Francisco first and jumped right into the city.

One of the highlights of the week was catching a Golden State Warriors game so we could watch Steph Curry play! This is Don's favorite player who played for Davidson. It has been so much fun over the years watching him develop into and elite player in the NBA.

The city was gorgeous and the weather could not have been more perfect. The biggest difference of course if the 0% humidity out there. It is amazing the difference.

We made a detour to a safari and did some overnight "glamping"... for those unfamiliar it is "glamour camping." We were out there when the moon was going to have the largest visibility for several decades. It was so bright that when we arrived and where taken to our hut, we could see the giraffes hanging around our tent. I woke up the next morning to this:

And then we drove towards Heaven.... Napa Valley! It is one of the most gorgeous places you can go to. CA wine country is something that everyone needs to experience. If you like wine, that is a triple bonus! We did three days of wine tastings in the vineyards. The colors of the grape vines were completely in their fall prime.

The beauty is just breathtaking! We visited at the perfect time. This is off season in the vineyards and essentially we had each of the vineyards to our self!

We took the Napa Valley wine train for the day and stopped at four wineries,. The food was amazing including 4 courses through the course of the afternoon. I would recommend this to anyone!

These were just some of the vineyards that we visited. One was more beautiful than the next!

We rode bikes and toured the vineyards also one of the days... bike riding and wine drinking around wine country.... sounds like perfectness to me!

We learned the last day that my Uncle Jack was part owner of a winery out there. We decided to go visit and it was gorgeous! It was an Italian winery and we sure enjoyed meeting everyone!

Happiest of Anniversaries to us! We both promised each other that we would not wait 10 years to do another trip of a lifetime!

Lift our glasses for a toast! Until next time.....
