Getting prepared for Easter

Each year we prepare for a very special holiday with the baking of the lamb cakes. It is SO much fun and Juliette has helped my Mom make them now for 3years. This year she was SUPER in to the process.

These are the lamb molds that were my Great-Grandmother's - they are so old we don't even know the original date on them

Here is the recipe that my Grandmother typed back int he day... you can see how worn and used it is but I just think that is the beauty of it... we pull it out every year to keep the tradition going

And so we begin to beat the eggs and make the dough

We had a certain little girl who wanted to eat lots of the batter... therefore we had just enough to bake him

Look at the other assistant who LOVES the frosting... his little pal Gracie would love a nibble as well!

Juliette is beginning to frost the lamb

AND the finished project! AND since Tripp looks like he is going to have blue eyes, we made the eyes of the lamb a sort of blue... Juliette was thrilled she thought that the eyes made the lamb look like a beautiful cat!

Merry times... the Easter season is upon us!
