School Days

Well it is hard to believe that we are into school days. Juliette is loving school. The first week she was a little clingy when I would drop her off but since then she walks right into the classroom and sits down ready to play at the table with the play dough. It is the cutest little program. I can see amazing developments in her now everyday. Over the past week, I feel like she is now talking in full sentences. It feels like it just happened overnight. She laughs at herself and laughs at us too. We were at the park this weekend and there was a sailboat that we were sitting in. I looked at her and said, "hold on tight the boat is moving." She looked at me and said "Mommy is so silly." I just started to laugh out loud.

We have some new art work that we brought home on the first day of school. I could not have been a more proud mommy when she gave it to me. You can see her holding her masterpiece. The alligator she painted because they were studying the letter "A"

My first day of school

Mommy and Juliette survived the first morning of school. We talked about school on the way in that morning. We were all ready and we even saw some of the other little girls getting ready to go in. Juliette was very brave and even let me take a picture of her. Once we arrived to the classroom, she began to pull the python and slowly squeeze her arms and legs around me. The sweet teachers had told us before that most will cry but the sooner that we just drop them and go, the faster they get over it and forget that we were even there. I did just that. By the time that I was right outside the door I peeked and could tell that the tears were done with by that point. I was a bit quiet on my way into work and was not sure if I was happy or a bit sad... I think had mixed feelings of course.

When my Mom went and picked her up, she had had a great day! She painted a school house and used all kinds of stickers. The program is going to be so good. Everyone just seems wonderful. I am so happy for my little baby girl - even if you are not a little baby still, Mommy can always call you that!

A wonderful visit with Auntie Tony

We are making the most of the time while Don is in AK salmon fishing. My Auntie Tony came down for the weekend and we had such a great time! Juliette kept her laughing the whole time that she was here. Juliette of course loved having the company too. We were sad to see her have to leave but it was just a wonderful visit.

An evening to check out the waves and beach before Earl

Don left for Alaska today for 10 days on his annual salmon fish. My Mom, Dad and I went down to the Sullivan's Island this evening to check out the surf. The waves were definietly kicked up a notch for Earl but not as much as I thought.

Open house for Pre-School

As hard as it is to believe, Juliette had her open house today for pre-school. Oh my gosh, I walked in and it is the cutest program in the world! Juliette warmed right up to the 4 teachers for the 16 children. She is one of 12 girls in the class and 4 boys. It is going to be so much fun for her! I got excited just hearing about everything. I could not believe that you still get scholastic booklets to order books. It is the same form ever when I brought them home as child. It was actually very refreshing to see something not updated with technology.

My first Ballet class

Juliette had her first ballet class today at Tapio. It was so cute. She is taking it with my good friend Jill's girls. Juliette was a bit apprehensive at first but did go up to the special dance room without Mommy. The Mommys cannot watch the little girls except in the room downstairs via a TV. It was so cute to watch the girls. Juliette is one of the youngest in the class so she was a bit timid. The whole time all of the little girls would line up in a row and here you would see Juliette walking up toward the teacher. She just wanted to follow the teacher around the whole time. She did show her Daddy what she learned that day and it was dancing around in a circle. I know that in a matter of a few lessons she will be right in there with the rest of the little girls.
