Over the summer we started a super fun game that the kids are I just loved! It was called "Night Night Babies..."
As you can see, the big ones wanted to show the babies how much fun going to bed could be.
Juliette assures the boys that it is so much fun to see Monkeys and Teddy's fly through the air! They have a race who's crib can be emptied first bu who can throw the most into the other crib.
The babies try to tell their big Sister and Brother that they are sure that they can sleep better outside in the hammock. The games just could not yet come to an end.
Tyler is still trying to convince Juliette to play more.
It makes bed time super fun and although there is fussing when the party ends, the babies seem to fall asleep within two minutes after the end.
It was the night before 4K and this boy could not have been any more excited! He insisted that we pull the flag down off the front of the house so that he could sleep with it and use it as a blankie!
Now Juliette would always choose her first day of school book to be something related to school and usually "T'was the night before kindergarten." This goofy little guy chose his favorite book "Five Black Cats." If there is a certain trademark of Tripp as you probably know by now, the little guy knows no seasons. Christmas is year round, Fall and Halloween are year round and really anything he is feeling for that day could be year round.
He bounced and giggled and really took a while to settle down. He was ready to meet Mrs. Sellars!
Tripp could not be more excited than he was when he jumped out of the car and was greeted by two of his besties - Zoey and Emmie! They were all together in 2K and 3K. All three giggled their way into the building.
And we're ready to enter the 4K building!
This year they begin with a farm theme.
He can never know just how much his Mommy loves him!
And then it was time to meet Mrs. Sellars! She is a legend at Christ our King and we could not be more thrilled that Tripp has her for a teacher. He is one of 4 boys and 8 girls in the class.
They got to work on a little project. In good Tripp form he kept everyone guessing whether he is right handed or left handed. As you can see, using both of his hands. Most of the little ones just dabbed a little bit of glue on each finger... not Tripp! He was determined that he needed all of that glue to make the hand stick! He knows his Mommy will keep it for 40 years so he is right on target... it will be intact for years to come.
After their "kissing hand" project, it was time for the first story of the year! Mrs Sellars read to all of the children "Kissing Hands."
Then it was time to sing a song... they're all of little nervous!
And then the next day it was time to put on his uniform. When asked what he was most excited about his first day. What was his answer...
Me: "Tripp what are you most excited about today?"
Tripp: "Wearing my blue socks and shoes..."
Me: "Tripp what was the best part of the day?"
Tripp: "Playing and eating!"
It is going to be a wonderful year for you!
I love to watch you grow and I treasure every minute of it!
In spite of the tears that flowed the night before, that morning she was ready to go. She came home and claimed to have a very successful day!
"Mommy, it is going to be a wonderful year!"
"But even though I think it is going to be wonderful, you will never know how much I miss you when I am at school. There is no such thing as wonderful that would make missing you better!"
It is always one of my favorite evenings of the year! That is the night before the first day of school. Juliette and I have a tradition of special book reading, chats about the new school year, an annual interview and sweet smiley pictures showing just how big she is getting.
This year for the first time she cried last week. And I mean she really cried.... she was SO sad because she let me know she had the most amazing summer and did not want it to end. She is like her Mama and enjoys the easier living... summer schedule is just the best. It makes my heart so happy to know just how much she LOVED summertime. It truly was the "Endless Summer!"
She has the most wonderful teacher and I know that it is going to be another amazing year for her. Mrs. Crull is going to guide her into all new levels of learning. She was thrilled though that so many of her dear friends were in here class again this year.
Her favorites had to make it into the picture! "Uni," "Big Dog" and Nutmeg along with her two jelly fish had to be part of it.
I wish you all the best pretty girl! You are my one and only daughter....
and I will treasure you always!
PS.... Tripp is hoping Christmas is right around the corner. The fashion plate does his best to always impress!
Just call these dogs angels - by far not because they are perfect
Below as evidenced by Gypsy's sneak to the bathroom to eat toilet paper... She looks at me like no way am I guilty! Puppy dog, little do you know you have toilet paper hanging off your lips...
but because they are unbelievably patient! This is thier third go around with additions to the family. These little guys "love" them as much as Tripp and Juliette. "Love" is a relative term here. I am not sure the dogs love a double dosage of a leash in the house but the babies sure think they do!
And like sweet dogs they take it for the team and go along with it because they too are family and they realize it's just easier to go along with it than to be difficult.
Today was SO exciting!! Tripp and his big sister were excited to go shopping.... This was until this little guy realized it was for a uniform...
Knowing Tripp and his particular nature with clothes do you think he was excited about a uniform?
No! He fussed that he didn't want a uniform. That was until his sister assured him how exciting a uniform could be.
Looking back look at this cutie getting her first uniform! She was so excited!
Roll forward three years and here we are now for Tripp!
Tripp gave him just the right pep talk and he was ready!
And look at the sweetness we have! He could not have been any happier or more excited!
Of course I couldn't get the darn socks off of him and he had to prance out of the store in August in long navy socks with crocs. The guy lives in another world!
There is a first for everything and today was the babies' first dental appointment! They were fans. They really were. All of the kids have never had a fear of the dentist which is lucky for me! The pearly whites got shined and polished and we came out clear of any problems!
