A 50th anniversary celebration in the mountains

We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Mima and Grandpa's 50th wedding anniversary. We went up to a cabin in Little Switzerland, NC and were joined by all of Don's family. It was great to have everyone together. We did some hiking, gem mining and just got to catch up and relax. Juliette LOVED spending time with her cousins!

Funny Friday

This is some serious practice of what we learned last night at the little gym. Juliette insisted that she wear her tutu... so there you have it. This is just what we wore.

A final resting place for my Grandpa Bud and Grandma Tee in Chicago

We ended the weekend with a special day of rest and burial for my Grandparents in my Mom's home town. Our whole family got together and it was so nice to celebrate their lives all together. We even went and stopped by the house where my Mom grew up. It was quite a special day filled with wonderful memories of days when I was very young.

A trip to the Lincoln Park Zoo and a carriage ride

One of the highlights of Juliette's trip was touring the Lincoln Park Zoo both days that we were there. Her latest favorite animal is the horse. There was a carriage ride outside of our hotel each day and so of course we had to go and pet the horse each night. We finally decided to go on the ride after she begged in her little voice. We were amazed at how much she could retain of the animals that she saw that day at the zoo even after we left. It is just magical to watch through the eyes of a child something new each day that they experience.

Trip to Chicago - visit with Auntie Toni

We had an awesome trip to Chicago this past week. Juliette was perfect on the flight. I got an i-touch for my birthday and downloaded a movie and some baby games for her. It worked out perfectly! We began with a dinner with Auntie Toni. All afternoon Juliette kept saying "Auntie Toni" basically perfectly.

A very special lunch date

Today I had lunch with a very special friend. Macaulay was my Kappa Delta little sister at Wofford and one of my closest friends. Sadly, I have not seen her in close to five years and she only lives in Sumter. Well today we met up while she was in town for lunch with her little girl Bee and Juliette. It is amazing how you an catch up with certain people and feel like it has only been a few months since you have seen them. My heart was so happy after seeing her.

Happy Birthday America and to Mommy

I always love the time of the year that my birthday falls on. I am convinced that the week of the 4th of July is the greatest week of the whole year. I had a wonderful birthday this year. My Mom and I celebrated on my birthday with lunch downtown and shopping around. Don and I celebrated last night with dinner at Peninsula Grill and drinks on top of the Market Pavilion hotel. The weather has been absolutely amazing. Today we celebrated the 4th of July with my parents in the Daniel Island parade. It was SO much fun. A very happy and safe 4th of July to everyone.
