Christmas Day

Merry Christmas to all. What a wonderful and special Christmas it was this year. Juliette does not quite understand Santa yet but she can say his name. Don told me last night that he knew what it felt like being a Dad on Christmas Eve. He was up until midnight putting together Juliette's new kitchen. I on the other hand was only able to support as much as sleeping on the couch in the living room. Juliette was in awe on Christmas morning. She loved her kitchen and her new farm. She got a horse to ride and that has been a huge hit as well.

Mommy too was quite excited about her gift - I got a wii! Don and I have been having a blast with this thing. It is amazing how something like that can put the kid right back in you!

Christmas at Tessa & Doh's

Juliette had a wonderful Christmas with Tessa & Doh and Uncle Danny. She definitely loved her most fitting gift from Doh - A big Fish! My Mom is going to hang some yarn from it so Juliette can pretend that she is catching fish. You can see that her Grandaddy and her Daddy are hoping that they have a young "fishgirl in training"

An afternoon downtown

Juliette and I enjoyed a little pre-Christmas afternoon with Tessa. Juliette had the best afternoon yet in a restaurant. She was like a little perfect big girl.

My 2nd smocking fashion show

Juliette was in her second fashion show last night for Tessa's (my Mom)smocking guild. She was so thrilled as she had an audience of her Mommy, Daddy, Tessa and Doh. She had her two beautiful little outfits that her Tessa made for her.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas...

Well we have been up to all kinds of fun things. Juliette is saying Santa... although I can tell you that she was not too fond of Santa this year. We went to breakfast with Santa in our neighborhood and as you can see that was about as far as she would get to Santa. Her favorite part of the morning was sucking on a candy cane for the first time. Boy, did she love that. We have had some cold days which has made it feel a lot like Christmas is in the air.

I love my doggies

Among a few of Juliette's favorite things are her doggies! she now loves to just run around the house and chase them. If you ask her to hug them she will do exactly that. They have a specifi area in the kitchen where they stay under a cabinet known as the "hutch". Juliette can now say that word and insists on getting in there with them to sit and pet them.

Picking out a tree

This year Juliette was quite excited about picking out our tree. She was running in between all of them and trying to help us find the perfect tree. We did find just that.

A wonderful Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving. This was the first time that Don and I hosted the party. We had twelve people here of my family and his family. It would be unfair to say that I cooked the food though. I did make a pumpkin cheesecake but the rest of the credit goes to my Mom and Mother-in-law. Thank you for wonderful food. Mom, your turkey was amazing!

A great visit with the Pedracine's

We were so excited that Georgia and Al Pedracine were in town. They are some of my parents bets friends who have known me since birth. They all had a ball with Juliette! She kept them on their toes for sure! Uncle Al and Juliette have the same birthday so we did a August in November birthday party today.

Wow! All the changes going on

It is just incredible to me all the changes that are going on right now with Juliette. So last night she pronounced her first real word besides "mama" and "dada" - "ap-ple". I was changing her diaper and was so shocked when she kept on saying it. She has goes ... "ugh..." which is what Don and I say to her when we are picking up doggy poop. She has a bag and insists on pretending that she is picking the poop up as well. It is so darn cute.

She now amazes me how much she understands. You can tell her "bring daddy his shoe" and she will do just that. We are just so amazed at her and all of her progress! Nothing could seem more exciting than these special days.

Juliette LOVES her dogs. She could run around and play wiht them all day. She hugs them and pets them. Now she actually will get on their bed and try to sit right with them. We are so lucky that they are SO good and so very patient with her. She can get a little bit rough sometimes and they just look at us...

An afternoon at the park

Juliette had her first real experience on the swings. She was not sure what to think at first but enjoyed a few more pushes before she wanted down. Thank you to big boy Thomas to show her just how much fun the swings really are - especially when there are "underdoggies" involved.

The fair and Halloween

I love this time of the year! There are so many fun activities going on. Juliette had a wonderful day yesterday. We took her to the fair for the first time yesterday. She had a great time. She loved petting all of the animals at the petting zoo. I think I love it too because I have so many great memories there when I was young as well. Halloween was great too. We went to about six houses and the little Indian never really had to leave her car. She loved Halloween! This morning was daylight savings time and she slept until 9:00 AM.

A very nice catch by Daddy

I had to post a very nice trout catch by Daddy and Doh although Daddy did catch it. Juliette has become quite interested and excited about touching fish and shrimp. I see a lot of fishing in this Carolina girl's future.
