A sizzlin good time in the 'Ville

Oh what a darn good time! We headed to our annual Ashborough swim meet. This year we had additional reasons to celebrate! Monica a childhood close friend has moved back to Summerville with her family. We swam together as children and now her daughter joined the Ashborough swim team.

Amy Verona, Monica, her mom Gail and Tessa were all there. It was a perfectly wonderful evening.

My Mom and Gail were the cheerleaders for us back in the day. We repeated history and cheered on the next generation.

Juliette loves Olivia and Tripp is wild about Parker and Lucas. The kids are so sweet and even though they are now teenagers are still so kind and love the little ones. That is how you know good kids.

Ashborough Alligator blood runs deep!

And now we have next generations of friends.

A good night can sometimes be best summed up when you cannot even make it up the garage stairs so you simply go to sleep on the step.

Monkey See - Monkey Do

Tyler still is fascinated with fixing and watching how everything works with his Daddy! He is up for any project and will "help" in any way he can.

Daddy was doing some work this past weekend and Tyler had to be right there in the mix of the whole thing. He is fascinated and really processed what is going on.

Hunting Island with Mima and Grandpa

We headed to Beaufort and took the kids to Hunting Island. We had never been to this beach yet. The kids had a ball and being almost a camp site is very different from any beaches we have here in Charleston.

The waves were relatively small that day so the kids were able to jump, swim and let the waves chase them all afternoon. It was perfect!

The little guys had a ball getting wet in the water and then playing in the sand. That is the favorite part at this age.

And no trip to Hunting Island would be complete without a stop to the Shrimp Shack! This place has been around since I was a kid. When my parents would go down to Fripp Island, we would always stop here for a "shrimp burger." That is what they are most famous for.

It was as delicious as I remember from years before.

Do you know what the ocean, warm weather, full bellies and a car ride all contribute to?

A solid hushabye for all of the children all the way home!

Our first day of Spanish school

These three little guys were all ready for Spanish school this morning. They are all doing a summer camp there for five weeks twice a week in the mornings.

The teachers at Charleston Bilingual Academy are precious and what a special place. I am so happy that I landed on this little gem for the language.

My first shot at golf

Tripp had his first camp of the summer. He tried his hand in golf and really seemed to enjoy it. There were two little girls in his group and three boys. They had a lunch on the last day at the club and the parents were invited to the ceremony of completion. Tripp's favorite part was a game that they played while it rained and they couldn't golf. A close second was the macaroni that he ordered with the sprite for the graduation luncheon.

When my Mom dropped him off he told her that his bags were too heavy to carry.... then he saw a little girl smaller who was carrying hers. Tripp looks at Tessa....

"Okay, okay Tessa I think I am strong now and can carry my bag..."

Tripp and his golf coach, Coach Mike

What a fun first camp of the summer!

Surfs up on Folly Beach

"And she had fun fun fun 'til her Daddy took the t-bird away" 🎢🎢🎢

Oh did we! Whitney had her nephew Kellen in town for the week so we planned a surf lesson for all of us! What fun and how hilarious! Juliette whipped up on everyone. The girl is in a class of her own with her core strength that she has from ballet. She was up on that board in no time just like last summer. We'll say I was able to get up and ride a few waves - much more practice to come though πŸ˜‰.

All that work after lunch snow cones of course were required for some refuel to the body!

Can't wait to do it again next summer!

The Fastest Fred Flinstone ever!

Now I know Fred Flinstone is fast with those feet of his...

But I am pleased to have you meet a baby whose feet may be even faster than Fred Flinstone himself!

Yabadabadoo...... says Thomas!
