Today is the day... the last day of 3K

Wow did we feel like a big shot this morning! I reminded Juliette when she work up that this was her last day of school and that she would not have the same teachers next year. She said, "But Mommy, I love my teachers!" We brought them in some special treats today because they have all just been amazing! Juliette has been with them now for 2 years. She will move on to the big school next year for 4K.

We took some pictures on the front porch for her last day of school and then Doh pulled up! She said, "Let's not go to school and I will go fishing with Doh." After some convincing she decided that it will be a super fun day going on an "ultimate bug hunt."

I dropped her off for the last day and all though she has never had much interest in dolls at home, what is the first thing that she is playing at school? Dolly! Go figure! I was so glad that I got to capture a few shots of the day.

When I picked her up it was hard to believe that another year was done. Tripp will be in the little program there before you know it. We went to celebrate with a lunch at Juanita Greenberg's! Now the scholar is napping from exhaustion and getting ready for a fun filled weekend swimming in the pool and playing at the park. It's a tough life I tell ya!

It's starting to feel like summertime!

Well May has quickly approached and with that has been lots of fun outdoor activities and swimming in the pool almost every day. It is still cold but it is amazing how unphased by water temperature children are.

We have been up to a whole lot of not much. I am enjoying some of my last weeks of maternity leave before going back to work. Juliette's last day of 3K is tomorrow. It is so hard for me to believe that another school year is done. She is so excited as they will be going on a bug "bug hunt" tomorrow for the last day celebration.  We should have a very fun summer this summer. I think again there will be a hole bunch of swimming.

Tripp is doing great! He is growing like a weed. I feel like he does not really even feel or look like a new born but when you think about it he really is not. He slept through the night last night. He went from 10 PM until 7:30 AM. He has done on occasion 11 PM until 6 AM but last night was the real deal. It is strange that I actually was a little bit sad that he went through the night. There is part of me that still wants him to be a little new born baby We all know that can't stay that way forever though.

Mom took Juliette strawberry picking at Boone Hall Farms Tuesday. They had so much fun. Juliette came home with dirt from head to toe and had more strawberry juice dow her face than you could imagine. She loved every bit of it thought and we made homemade strawberry shortcake for dinner that night.

Lunch date with "Ms Cynthia"

We had such a fun lunch date with my Mom's best friend Ms. Cynthia. It was such a blast to see her and for her to get to meet Tripp and see Juliette.

Cynthia let's do it again very soon!

Relishing life's moments to the fullest

I have been trying to relish every moment of my children. They grow so fast and it is hard to believe that Juliette is 3 1/2 years old and Tripp will be three months old in a few weeks. Don went on a quick fishing Tripp to UT this past weekend and so my Mom and I decided to capture some more moments with the children. I love photography because I feel like it is a true way to be able to hold tight to all of the fun that you make in the present and fun that you have already made with them.

We pulled Tripp and Juliette's cradle out to the backyard and took some shots of both of them. Tripp is still in the cradle next to my bed. Juliette was in it when she was a baby for three months.

In life it seems that there are always things that we can worry about and be concerned with. It is amazing when we step back and look -  how much enjoyment there is in each day. I am so thankful for that!

Enjoy!

Wonderful week with Ann Marie and Mary Ellen

We had the best visit with my Mom's cousins who came into town for a few days. It was so much fun and we miss them already. Juliette has not stopped talking about the princess cake that she spent two days making with Mary Ellen. She asked me today whoever would be able to ever help her make another princess cake like the one she made with Aunt Mary Ellen.

Thanks so much for such a fun visit and we hope y'all are back in town soon.

By the way that was the most amazing cake design ever! Thank you again - Juliette will never forget making that!

"My child" pink blankie

Well it is time to blog about the one and only "pink blankie"! This blankie has become Juliette's best friend. If she has a bow in her hair, pink blankie must have one as well. If we go somewhere there is a lot of talking and convincing in order for blankie not to join us in the grocery store, CVS or friends' houses.

This morning I dropped Juliette off at school and as I am walking in the door with her I notice that she has pink blankie under her arms trying to sneak her into her classroom. I laughed and told her that she knew pink blankie could not go to school with her. She handed her to me and I placed her on the bench down the hall from the classroom. Of course it happened, as I am approaching the interstate I realize that pink blankie has been left! This was a first for me. I u-turned before getting on the interstate and headed back to the school. As I walked into the building pink blankie was no longer on the bench. I was panicked to say the least and opened up her classroom door. I looked and pink blankie was folded at the back of the room. Ms. Ginny spotted her as she entered the building. As I walked in and asked about pink blankie Ms Ginny said, "Of course we knew it was pink blankie and who it belonged to, we pray for her at church every week."  I could not help but think that was one of the cutest things yet that I had heard about her. Each week the students each get to pray for something and each week Juliette prays for her pink blankie.

Tripp is two months old today!

Here we are at two months old today! We have been enjoying each day of the new ride with Tripp. He has been such a joy to all of us so far. To celebrate his birthday today we went to the aquarium for the afternoon and his big sister had a blast.

Don took care of him these past two nights while I got a full night's sleep. It is amazing how wonderful you feel after two good nights of uninterrupted sleep. How funny that the night his Daddy is taking care of him he sleeps until 5 AM. How typical is that? He usually is up each night around 2:30 eats and goes right back down. He then is usually up again around 6 PM. He is getting close to throughout the night so I am hoping that it is any night that I am going to get the surprise and wake up and it is 5 or 6 in the morning.

Tripp is smiling like crazy. He will fuss when you leave the room and he knows that he is alone in the room. It is amazing how aware of his surroundings he is. When you come back into the room he immediately begins to smile. It will really warm your heart when you see that smile! Another new thing is blowing bubbles! He is beginning to make bubbles with his lips - that is always so cute too.

Juliette has been really great with Tripp. She is really not in the least bit interested in helping or doing anything for him but she talks about him a lot and when he is not in the car with us always asks me where he is. If I ask her to help men hold the bottle for him she tells me that her hand hurts after holding it for 8 seconds at the most.

He has how two month checkup tomorrow so we will find out where he is in his weight and height. So far at one month he was exactly 50 percentile.
