It's 9:00 in the evening and there is no Juliette. I tucked her into her bed around 7:30 and came to check on her... no where to be found...
Upon closer look she is all curled up in the port-a-crib that Tyler naps in during the day. Now, let's just say it was not possible that this could be comfortable. I wake her up and put her back in her bed...
Once again, "Good night and Sweet Dreams..."
Coming to wake her up in the morning for school and I find her in the middle of the hall on the floor. Again, how can this be comfortable?
Her words, "Mommy I sleep best on the floor over any where else..."
Super Man may have been down with a broken leg but there was no lame Super Man at this party! The boy was ready for a party! For the past month he would ask me every day when was his party... he had a fit if I used the word weeks, he had a fit if I used the word days... this guy wanted it today!
We had so much fun celebrating with his class.
"Ju-iette" was an amazing Sister at the party. She was by Tripp's side the whole time!A broken leg couldn't get a birthday boy down if he had a sister who would give him piggy backs the whole time while playing the games. She really does love her little brother so much.
Tripp and his favorite little friend Zoey! They are the best of friends!
His whole class had so much fun and was so happy celebrating with the birthday boy!
These guys even were ready to get into the fun. They loved throwing the bean bags right into the little box.
Tripp was so happy to have Ms. Adi and Mr. Gustavo at the party too! They truly are part of our family.
Tessa was there in style to join in the fun!
And on his real birthday when Tessa picked him up from school... what was all he wanted to do?? He wanted to have lunch at the Waffle House. When he and Tessa walked into the restaurant he requested to sit up at the bar for the very first time since he was now 4 and a big boy!
Juliette had a very special day today at Church. She received her 2nd sacrament today of First Holy Reconciliation. She was ready when she woke up and assured us the Devil would never be able to hang around the house again trying to make her naughty.... ummm.... we'll see about that!
She pulled our her Rosary and decided that would be a good way to begin a special day. Her dress that she wore was most appropriate for the day. It was mine as a little girl and I wore it in Chicago when my Mom took us to see the Pope John Paul II while he was in the city. Although I was too young to remember we have always referred to this dress as my "Pope dress."
Success! What a great day for a cleansing of our Soul!
Yes, one of their favorite group activities is assisting with the washer and dryer... They like to grab a sock and hand it to me. Maybe they will keep this interest up a few more years! Trust me, there is enough laundry to go around for everyone to share in the fun.
You can see their sharp new haircut from the back.
Tyler is sure there must be something in there. In this house he thinks how could a dryer ever be empty?
Valentine's was a precious day! Tripp vowed his love to his Sister and even crowned her to be his Princess forever!
We made Valentine's cards for our classmates.
Tripp was especially excited when he was working on a Valentine's card for one of the little girls in his class.
Romeo himself...
For lunch I had a special day planned even pulling out my glass champagne flutes for sparkling grape juice for the kiddies! We began a very nice dinner and everything was nice and calm...
Then Juliette is carrying Tripp up to the house... "Mommy aren't you proud of me? Tripp was dancing on the slide and fell off... I carried him because he said he couldn't walk..." Oh now that sounds great I'm thinking. It did indeed and this is what we got... A hairline fracture of the tibia. Luckily only three weeks in a cast.
These boys decided the best thing is to study their Bibles and pray for their sweet brother. He is a wild man full of mishaps while playing.
We just returned from what I would call a FABULOUS, MAGICAL, PEACEFUL.... (well that is a stretch) few days away in Beaver Creek. Juliette was off on to her second ski vacation and Tripp was off to his first.
Upon arrival I was concerned about the "Fuss Pusser" (Tripp has been dubbed this name as he was trying to call Juliette this and did not know the word "Fuss Bucket" and called her "Fuss Pusser" - many days it fits him perfectly)
We get to the resort and step outside and this little guy was about to learn how to step up his game...
Juliette had some thoughts on her first day of skiing. She was ready for the day but kind of afraid she would have forgotten how to ski.
Here Juliette was on her first day of skiing two years ago when I picked her up from ski school. She was just a baby in Kindergarten here.
The kids were ready to go after all of the fittings. Tripp was part of the "Mogul Mice." To say he had a ball was an understatement. I wondered what the day would bring for him and would not have been surprised to get a call. Boy was I wrong!
After his first day he was ready to talk about it!
Sounds like the jelly sandwich was a big part of the day and the child loved walking with one leg and skiing with the other... go figure!
His instructors were digging his purple pants. He was easy to spot and loved that his Sister's fit him! Who would know he could be such a fashion plate!
We came in briefly after skiing around 3:30 and then headed straight back out for what may have been the most exciting part of the day....
S'mores and kiddie cocktails outside for the little ones and Prosecco and gin gimlets for the big ones!
This little guy continued to love it....
He loved it so much... I am not sure whether he was more excited to be dancing or getting ready to ski! It must have been the purple pants!
And if he were a bit tired of standing, one could find him peeking through his knees just off the magic carpet looking for friends.
By the end the little guy could really go. He was promoted up the mountain after his last day. He made it to level 1!
Juliette loved it! It was hard to find her because she was up and down the mountain. She met some very sweet little girls over the three days and on the fourth day had a little boy in her foursome. She was happy, poised and very comfortable on the mountain! On the last day we were able to find her going up on her last run for the day. We took Tripp up in the Gondola to watch her as you can see above. She was ecstatic as she was promoted to level 4!
She was sad to leave her instructor Mindy but we assured her we would see her again next year!
Tripp was so happy to hug his instructor but also could not wait to go and try to find....
his picture!
You can hear the screeching right now as Juliette is threatening a snow ball fight with Tripp! She has the ball in hand and he is running for his life....
Only to be caught by his big Sister. There is no running from her!
The kids are thrilled to find a playground anywhere even in the middle of feet of snow!
We laughed so hard over this... Tripp is now a self proclaimed hunter! He runs through the house "hunting" for his dinner. Now any of you hunters out there? Would you know what this is? Tripp thinks this big brown bear is a coyote.... I am afraid my hunter has some knowledge improvements to make before he can kill any dinner.
Once we convinced him that he was surely a bear and not a coyote, he was obsessed with the arrow in his toot! He tried to grab that arrow every time we passed this piece of art!
He also let us know... "That arrow by his toot must smell like bad b-weath!"
(actual word he way trying to say - bad breath)
And in the words of Tripp, "Mommy, I never want to go back to school. I want this to be my new school..." Little one I think you are onto something.
I would want to be in ski school every day too.
And not even on the plane to leave yet and, "Mommy, when can we go back?"
Goodbye Colorado and we hope to see you again real soon!
